SI-912 i-024/ SI-915 i-006 – INTRODUCTION OF A NEW CONNECTOR FOR REGULATOR B FOR ROTAX® ENGINE TYPE 912 i, 915 i A AND 915 i B (SERIES)

This document advises of the availability of a new connector for regulator B for ROTAX® Engine Type 912 i, 915 i A and 915 i B (Series).


What's this about?

There has been a new style of Regulator B connector developed. The new connector allows higher current draw. ROTAX® 915 i Series engines will all be equipped with this connector in subsequent series production. (See the SI to determine which engines are already equipped with this new-style connector.)

PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT mandatory to retrofit engines which have the old style regulator B and stator connector. Older ROTAX® 915 i (series) engines may optionally be retrofitted with this new-style connector. Also, ROTAX® 912 i Series engines may also optionally be retrofitted with a relevant new-style connector set.


How does this affect me?

If your aircraft is equipped with a ROTAX® 912 i series or 915 i series aircraft engine, and you might consider updating to this (optional) new-style connector, then you should familiarize yourself and/or have your aircraft maintenance provider become familiar with the contents of this service letter. An iRMT 'Heavy Maintenance' qualification is required to perform this update.

A standard intercooler (P/N 888962) is included in the scope of delivery for 915 i (Series) aircraft engines. This document advises of the availability of three different intercoolers (P/N 888963, P/N 888965 and P/N 888967) for installation of Rotax 915 i Series engine applications, should the need arise for different kinds of connection orientation and installation situations.

If your aircraft is equipped with a ROTAX® 915 i-Series aircraft engine, you may be interested in obtaining one of the optional intercooler variants. This document contains essential information about the P/N 888963, P/N 888965 and P/N 888967 intercoolers.
